Centauromachia
Since the beginning of 2025, Fausto has been exploring the themes of unrestrained partying, intoxication, and addiction in his artistic work. For the design of a mural in a Berlin club, he is elaborating a pictorial concept inspired by classical and partly figurative composition, drawing on the baroque formal language to reinterpret a theme from ancient mythology.
The scene of the present concept (November 2025) depicts the moment when all the centaurs rush back to their common cave to kill an intruder. The intruders are Heracles and his brother Iolaos. They have opened the wine — a gift from Bacchus to the centaurs — whose scent has alerted its owners and summoned them from every corner of the ancient earth.
In the process of working toward a modern interpretation of this story, various modes of representation are explored. Among these experimental approaches is the visual and symbolic portrayal of seduction through demonic creatures, borrowed from Renaissance imagery.
